Basic Thai Reading and Writing 1

Course Description

Basic Thai orthography; handwriting; three groups of letters and tonal system; basic grammar and sentence structure; and reading and writing words and short sentences.


Course Objectives

At the completion of the course, the students should be able to:

1.Understand and possess in Thai orthography, the three groups of letters systemand the tonal system of Thai language
Understand and possess in basic grammar and sentence structure
Remember, read and write Thai vocabularies and short sentences


Course Requirements

To receive credit for this course, students must achieve a composite course grade of at least “D” or 50 percent.
A minimum of 80% of class attendance is required.
Late Submission of work is not allowed unless permitted or agreed by lecturer.

Thai Pronunciation

Course Description
Pronunciation of consonants, vowels, and tones according to the Thai phonology;
and pronunciation of Thai syllables, words, sentences, and connected speeches.

Course Objectives
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to :
1. Pronounce consonants, vowels, and tones according to Thai phonology.
2. Pronounce syllables, words, sentences, and connected speeches.
3. Apply the knowledge and skills of Thai pronunciation to learning and living together in society.
